Why is there advertising on this site?

The purpose of this website is to provide quality information to parents and teachers about special education assessment and intervention. It takes many hours to maintain the site and to do so requires funds. The ads provide income to help maintain the site. Any earned advertising dollars also fund assisting with the provision of special assessment and intervention for American families living overseas who request our help.

Where do the ads come from?

Ads by Google are advertisements that appear near related content on each page. Google uses its search engine to "crawl" around in the site and find words to which it will provide a matching ad. Hopefully, this makes the ad relevant to what you are reading. The Google AdSense program is designed to place ads to match the content on any website. The ads come from Google's base of AdWords advertisers. The website designer does not select the ads nor monitor them.

The Amazon ads on the site have been selected by the website developer and have been placed purposefully within the site to promote products that may be interest to the reader or user of the site.

There are many hotlinks on the pages to sites or products; thse are not ads. The website developer receives no funding from promoting these products. These items, selected for their content, are believed by the site developer to be of interest to the reader/user of this site.

The website developer does not approve or endorse the content of the ads. The items from Amazon advertised on this site have been selected by the website designer, but there is no guarantee that the product will benefit everyone, please use discretion when reviewing or purchasing.

How are the links selected?

Google filters out certain ads known to be objectionable or illegal. However, for technical reasons, their filters cannot screen out all problematic ads. The website designer attempts to monitor the ads placed on this website. Many ads appear and  change as new advertisers join and leave the Google Adsense system. If the site developer finds an ad that is is deemed inappropriate or if we are informed about one, we will make every effort to remove the ad as quickly as possible and block it from appearing again.
